DFD Supershed

Project Scope

The DFD Super Shed project is aimed at delivering a versatile and efficient super phosphate storage solution to support the expanding portfolio of properties under the DFD Rhodes Pastoral portfolio. The design mandate includes the development of a facility capable of securely holding approximately 2,500 cubic meters of dry super phosphate, addressing both current and future storage needs.

Key OBJECTIVES of the project

Optimized Storage Capacity:

  • The storage facility is designed to accommodate approximately 2,500m³ of dry super phosphate, ensuring sufficient capacity for the anticipated storage demands. The design will incorporate features that maximize usable space, while maintaining the structural integrity necessary for long-term storage.

Efficient Unloading Operations:

  • The facility has been engineered to facilitate the efficient unloading of super phosphate using semi tippers. The design has allowed for the easy maneuvering of vehicles within the building, ensuring that product unloading can be carried out swiftly and safely, minimizing operational downtime.

Safety-Compliant Loadout Facility:

  • In addition to storage, the facility includes a dedicated loadout area that meets stringent Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHSE) requirements. This area has been designed to enable the safe and efficient loading of super phosphate using machinery such as wheeled loaders. The layout ensures that operators and other personnel have safe access to both trucks and machinery during loadout operations, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and enhancing overall operational safety.

Safety-Compliant Loadout Facility:

  • The project also focused on ensuring that all aspects of the facility, from storage to loadout, are optimized for operational efficiency. This includes considered factors such as ease of maintenance, durability of materials, and the integration of safety features that comply with industry standards..

Conclusion

By addressing these objectives, the DFD Super Shed project provided a state-of-the-art solution that not only meets the current needs of DFD Rhodes Pastoral but also supports future growth and operational efficiency in the handling of super phosphate.
